Jobs To India: Group Operations Reprieve - But Only For 2004

Group Operations, as one of the Five Business Units at the forefront of plans to export 1,500 jobs to India by the end of this year, has rightly been a key focus of LTU's campaign to keep Lloyds TSB jobs in the UK.
Group Operations has now decided not to transfer any new jobs to India this year. Whilst this is good news it does not mean that there is no longer any risk for Group Operations staff from the Bank’s plans. On the contrary, Group Operations has made clear that it is still central to the Bank’s offshoring strategy.
This is at best therefore a stay of execution and LTU's campaign to keep Lloyds TSB jobs in the UK will continue.
