<<< back Campaign Moves to Southend [14 Jan 2004] This week Lloyds TSB customers in Southend are adding their voices to LTU’s campaign. In addition to this LTU officials will be lobbying local political groups and media organisations. On Tuesday LTU’s campaign received extensive media coverage from local press, radio and BBC Look East Television. In excess of 500 signatures were added to the petition on the day. The vast majority of customers we spoke to clearly and unequivocally expressed their disapproval of the Bank’s plans and pledged their support by signing LTU’s petition. Many of them willingly provided interviews to radio, television and press reporters. We were also pleased to see a number of Lloyds TSB staff joining the union team and among them Denise Gardner, who has worked at the Southend Call Centre for 7 years, appeared in BBC Look East’s early evening report.
